2. Where will your decoders work?
A. Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Arusha, Dodoma, and Mbeya (where installation completeness has been announced by us). This is phase 1 and phase two expected to roll-out in May, 2013 will cover Tanga, Moshi, Morogoro, Shinyanga, Mtwara, Iringa, Tabora and Songea. This will also cover Kahama, Geita, Makambaku, Njombe, Sumbawanga, Singida and Babati.
3. What will be the cost of a decoder?
A. Prices will be advertised before launch
4. Will I have to pay monthly subscription?
A. Information on subscription will be published before launch but will be the lowest in the market
5. How many channels can I receive with your decoders?
A. Starting with 10-11 channels (all local and international news) and will increase gradually in March to 30 and in September will be 50 channels.
6. Do I need to buy an antenna for the decoder?
A. Indoor antennas will be provided along with the decoder. In weak signal areas, you might have to buy an outdoor antenna separately.
7. Will there be free to view channels?
A. Yes, some channels will be free to view (meaning subscription is not required but only for Continental decoder owners)
8. Will you install the decoders?
A. DTT decoders are very simple to install. Connect the decoder to your TV, fix the antenna and power on for auto signal search and you’re done.
9. Why should I buy your decoder?
A. Our decoders are DVB-T2, a next generation technology which provides you with better quality audio and video and other advantages. Our decoders are High Definition and you can connect to your TV with HDMI cables (provided your TV has the option), Dolby sound. All local popular channels (features, Tamthilia, Series movies, African Movies, American movies, Children and some Sports will be in our STB and all known international channels and some sports channels are included when channels reach 30-50.
Further, if you have queries regarding availability of Star TV in Dar es Salaam, Star TV is still available via satellite through Dish, Internet and Cable TV.
